Kingston concert to support United Way homelessness initiatives
You are invited to a special benefit concert in support of United Way KFL&A’s initiatives to prevent and end homelessness in our community.
The concert, hosted by local musician Valery Lloyd-Watts, will take place at Saint James Anglican Church in Kingston on February 25 at 7:30 p.m.
Valery was inspired to help after attending a Women United event. After the event she got to thinking, "what else can I do?" And that's when she came up with the idea for this concert.
Attendees will enjoy an inspiring evening filled with classical music, designed to bring comfort and healing. Valery regards herself as a conduit for the composers who have given us this wonderful music and the skill that they have to arrange groups of sounds that reach right into our hearts and souls..
The United Way's Heather Hayhow says the concert’s funds will help support emergency shelters, housing, outreach services, and legal aid for vulnerable individuals.
Valery hopes to raise awareness and encourage community action to address homelessness in Kingston, with a dream of making the city a model for resolving housing issues across Canada.
Tickets are available for $25 (general admission) and $20 (seniors and youth) online at unitedwaykfla.ca/events.
