Amazing effort for women's health

Yesterday we told you about the amazing effort at the 26th Annual Rose of Hope Golf Tournament at the Cataraqui Golf and Country Club.

Tournament Chair Sherri McCullough says they raised $400,000 but a bigger goal was reached along the way that will vastly improve women's heath in our city.

There are just under 5,000 patients waiting for an MRI appointment at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. About 2,500 breast MRI scans are performed every year. The new $6 million machine at Kingston Breast Imaging will help with the shortfall.

McCullough says the tournament has been so successful thanks to an incredible show of support on many different levels.

Volunteers at the tournament also help it flow so well. As a result a good time is had by all while they work together for such a worthy cause.

Rose of Hope continues to raise money for the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation year round, so there's still time to donate.

You can make that donation on the Foundation's website, found here

Im addition to helping with the backlog the new MRI Machine at Breast Imaging Kingston, will shorten wait times and produce timely, accurate diagnosis - all potentially life-saving.
