What's good in Kingston

Celebrating 140 years of the Kingston Humane Society

The Kingston Humane Society is celebrating 140 years of services to the city and beyond with the Tunes 4 Tails, free concert in Springer Market Square on Friday at 7:00 pm.

Executive Director Gord Hunter tells KingstonDaily.ca that they're the oldest Humane Society in Canada.

And Hunter says he wanted some top-tier talent to mark the occasion. The local music scene answered in kind.

The fun won't be limited to the main stage though. In fact the Kingston Frontenacs are taking on some tough opponents before the show.

And there's much more going on too. The concert is totally free. Donations are welcome and not mandatory. The Humane Society just wants to thank their very generous community that provides 70% of their funding to continue caring for the animals that they do.

If you'd like to join the party, stop by Springer Market Square on Friday at 4 for the festivities, and at 7 for the show headlined by Miss Emily.
