More on the United Way KFL&A's ambitious goal
As you heard here on 102.7 WOW FM and saw at KingstonDaily.ca, the United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington has announced their highest ever Campaign Goal, $3.95 million.
The annual campaign collects money to fund a wide-range of local community programs. The United Way works closely with these organizations and community partners to address issues like homelessness, food security, addiction, and mental health.
Kingston Mayor Brian Paterson was unable to attend in-person but sent a congratulatory video sharing his excitement for the ambitious campaign.
Greater Napanee Mayor Terry Richardson thanked all of the volunteers in attendance. He went on to comment on the fact we're living in some complex and difficult times.
Joanne Langlois, Chair of the 2024 Campaign, began her speech by turning all of the attention to the volunteers.
Last year over 70,000 people benefitted from local agencies, but sadly that number is expected to grow.
This year the United Way KFL&A goal is an increase of $130,000 over last year's goal. The group says it reflects the continued growing needs in the communities they serve.
The campaign wraps up November 28, 2024. For more information and updates, please visit www.unitedwaykfla.ca.
