Kingston Fire and Rescue works ahead of Fire Prevention Week
Fire Prevention Week is right around the corner, it runs in early October, but some homeowners may get an early start.
Chief Fire Prevention Officer Ted Posdowski says Kingston Fire and Rescue are starting a new program.
He says with modern technology has also raised the price tag. With new builds see smoke and CO detectors installed in more locations, replacing them after they expire can be quite expensive.
Posadowski says people who own homes that are eight years old will be getting a card in the mail.
Affected homeowners can expect to see those cards in their mailboxes any day now.
We'll have more on Fire Prevention Week 2024 as it gets closer.
