Marking the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation across Canada
Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation across Canada.
Larry McDermott is the Executive Director of Plenty Canada an Indigenous-led charity providing resources and support to Indigenous peoples and global communities for environmental protection and sustainability.
He says establishing the day has been important in many ways, especially in the spirit or cooperation.
McDermott says it's about healing and dealing with historical truths while moving forward.
The Executive Director also has an idea for a good starting point.
That is the primary goal of Plenty Canada. McDermott suggests that we all take time today to review the Truth and Reconciliation Commision of Canada's 94 Calls to action.
You can find them, and many more resources on the Plenty Canada website, found here.
