A new home for a great group
Partners in Mission Food Bank continues to raise money to help pay for their move to a larger facility to better serve the Kingston and Loyalist communities.
Executive Director Dan Irwin shared they’re really appreciative of all of the support they've received over their past four decades of operation, which allows them to help our neighbours in need.
They've already helped close to 7,000 people this year alone.
The new location, just 400-meters down the street from where they are now, will feature a grocery store model that allows clients to choose their own food, but it needs about a million dollars in work.
That has Irwin making a plea.
Donations have been pouring. Recently, the local Starbucks association donated more than $1,300 and the Knights of Columbus - St. Joseph's donated $2,000. That address to help again is www.kingstonfoodbank.ca. You can also call 613-544-4100 to set something up of find out more.
They also continue to welcome all donations of food at their current location at 140 Hickson Avenue.
