Project Arrow concludes a world tour with the visit
The City of Kingston welcomed Project Arrow, the first all-Canadian electric vehicle prototype to the city yesterday as part of a World Tour.
Local MP Mark Gerretsen was on hand and his Canadian pride was shining through.
The project is led by the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association. Their CEO Flavio Volpe was also on hand for the showing.
He says he's proud that project Arrow is the most significant industrial collaboration in the history of the Canadian automotive sector.
The car costs $20 million dollars. $12 million of that comes from parts makers across the country, while the other $8 million comes form government funding.
The car's appearance downtown brought out quite the crowd of car enthusiasts and the curious. Volpe added he loves seeing the reaction from kids, who are just amazed by the vehicle.
Version 2.0 is on the way soon.
