Are you ready for the next big winter storm?

Kingston Fire says don’t be caught off guard

We've seen it winter after winter - a community rocked by a winter storm and people stranded without power or access out of their home.

Fire Inspector Sebastian Smiertka with Kingston Fire and Rescue says it's important to plan ahead and get your emergency preparedness kits ready - just in case.

He says you just never know. And it's important to communicate the plan with family.

Food, flashlights, first aid - these are the kind of items you want on hand incase disaster strikes.

The Canadian Government has set up a guide on what to include at getprepared.gc.ca
