Arrest made in downtown Kingston break and enter

Suspect accused of lewd act

Kingston Police have arrested a 55-year-old man in connection with a break and enter that occurred on October 4, 2024. 

The incident took place around 6:00 a.m. at an apartment building near Barrie Street and Princess Street. The accused, Sandrino Silvestri, allegedly broke into an apartment, exposed himself to the victim while performing a sexual act, and made sexual comments.

The victim promptly contacted the police after the suspect fled the scene, reporting no physical injuries. The Kingston Police Major Crime Unit launched an investigation, during which security camera footage helped identify Silvestri.

On October 5, police arrested Silvestri at a local shelter. He faces charges of break and enter, sexual assault, harassment by threatening conduct, and two counts of breach of probation. 

Silvestri is currently held at Kingston Police headquarters awaiting a bail hearing.
