Audit: Children's Aid Societies to be investigated

Provincial run effort will investigate allegations of mishandled funds

The provincial government is launching a wide-scale audit of children's aid societies.

Premier Doug Ford said at a news conference he's heard numerous stories of mishandled funds by executives, and that needs to stop.

Ford says the intake of children at these aid societies have gone down 43% over the past decade, most of them run at deficits and the province invested $128 million into these organizations.
