Arrested twice in Kingston for theft, break-in
Kingston police arrested the same suspect twice in September for separate crimes involving a stolen bus and a break-and-enter.
On September 1, 2024, officers on patrol in the city's north end spotted a Kingston Transit bus parked across several spots at a convenience store. A 22-year-old man from Toronto, now living in Kingston, was found inside the bus, which had been stolen from a local automotive center. He was charged with vehicle theft and obstruction of a peace officer.
Just two weeks later, on September 16, police responded to a break-and-enter at an apartment near Princess and Bagot streets. The resident heard a noise and discovered a purse and iPhone were stolen. Officers tracked the stolen phone to a nearby location, where they found the same man from the earlier bus theft with the stolen property.
He now faces charges of break-and-enter, theft, and possession of stolen goods.
