Cataraqui Conservation elects new chair at annual meeting

New chair looking forward to new role

Cataraqui Conservation has elected Paul Proderick as its new chair for 2025. The decision was made at the Full Authority Board’s annual general meeting on January 29. Outgoing chair Gary Oosterhof was elected vice-chair.

Proderick, a Loyalist Township councillor, previously served as vice-chair for two years. He has a background in municipal committees, including recreation and renewable energy initiatives.

Oosterhof, a Kingston city councillor, has been on the board since 2017. As outgoing chair, he highlighted key achievements, including the organization’s 60th anniversary, a new administration office, and major strategic plans.

Proderick looks forward to working with staff and the board, emphasizing the importance of conservation programs and protecting natural spaces.

Cataraqui Conservation oversees watershed management, conservation areas, and environmental programs across eastern Ontario. The organization continues to focus on sustainability and community engagement in 2025.
