CFIA issues recall for Johnsonville sausages over incorrect dates

Products were sold at Food Basics and Metro in Ontario

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recalled Johnsonville brand smoked beef sausages and smoked beef cheddar cheese sausages due to incorrect best-before dates.

Metro confirmed that the sausages were sold at Metro and Food Basics locations across Ontario.

The recall, issued on November 1, is categorized as a "Class III" recall. This means there is a low risk to health, but the products do not meet the necessary labeling requirements.

The CFIA advises consumers not to use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected sausages. Instead, they should return them to the store where purchased for a refund or disposal.

Consumers are encouraged to check their purchases and follow the recall guidelines to ensure safety.

The CFIA continues to monitor the situation.
