Child targeted other kids on Rideau Street
The Whig Standard reports that on Sunday evening, September 22, 2024, a troubling incident unfolded on Rideau Street in Kingston.
Around 6:50 p.m., multiple first responders arrived at a housing complex in the 200 block after reports of a child spraying bear mace or pepper spray.
A video circulating online shows a group of children playing when a fourth child approaches and sprays them with a liquid. The victims immediately screamed and ran away, trying to claw the substance from their eyes.
Adults quickly intervened and called for police assistance.
The Whig wrote that Kingston Police confirmed they are aware of the incident and are investigating. They, along with Kingston Fire & Rescue and Frontenac Paramedics, responded to the scene.
