City approves boost to fight housing issue in Kingston

$3.7 million added to the pot

More money has been added to the growing City of Kingston pot to tackle affordable housing.

Council unanimously voted in favour this week to add nearly $3.7 million to their Housing Accelerator Fund Program in the 2024 budget, bringing the overall total to almost $20.2 million.

Kingscourt-Rideau Councillor Brandon Tozzo says that's worth celebrating.

That's more money for a key issue seen country-wide, and Tozzo says it's top of their mind too.

The fund supports affordable housing and housing-related infrastructure projects throughout the city.
