City of Kingston declares consent week

Many others making same move

Kingston council joined other municipalities and post-secondary schools in acknowledging and important message.

The third week of September is Consent Week and it was selected due to a rise of sexual violence which occurs in the first few weeks of a new school year.

The city recognized the week and the work they say Queen's Univeristy is putting in to create a consent culture at their recent council meeting.

The passed motion says consent is all about setting boundaries and respecting them, and being able to accept rejection and move on.
