City seeking artists for large new public artwork in downtown Kingston

Interested? Apply by March 28!

The City of Kingston is calling for artists to create a new public artwork for the Robert Bruce Memorial Parking Garage on Bagot Street. The permanent piece will span 10 concrete panels on the second level and be visible from street level.

“This is a highly visible location with lots of activity,” says Danika Lochhead, Director of Arts and Culture Services. “It’s a great space to showcase artwork that builds connection and celebrates the community.”

Artists from Kingston and the surrounding area can submit an Expression of Interest by March 28 at 5 p.m. A Selection Panel will shortlist three artists or teams, and the public will have a chance to provide feedback before the final selection.

A virtual Artist Information Session will be held Friday (March 14) at 2 p.m.
