Program aimed at enhancing local cleanliness
In response to community feedback in 2020, Kingston residents have embraced the Clean Neighbourhoods program aimed at enhancing local cleanliness. Over 225 responses highlighted a strong desire to beautify shared spaces such as parks, walking paths, and roadside green areas. Thus, the initiative was born.
Clean Neighbourhoods encourages collaboration among neighbors, schools, and associations to tidy up public areas. Upon registration, participants receive essential supplies including bags, gloves, and a comprehensive Clean Neighbourhoods Guide. Supplies are limited but efforts are made to ensure adequate provision for each cleanup.
Additionally, the program includes trash collection services, ensuring that collected waste is properly disposed of. Interested residents can register by specifying their preferred cleanup location, date, time, the number of participants, and contact details. This proactive registration not only facilitates efficient supply distribution but also tracks community contributions effectively.
By joining Clean Neighbourhoods, Kingston residents play a vital role in maintaining a cleaner and more attractive environment for all to enjoy.
