Kingston Police lay charges after crash on 401

A local driver was arrested for impaired driving after a single-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Kingston. 

On Wednesday evening around 10 p.m., the vehicle attempted to exit at Montreal Street but failed to make the turn and struck a guardrail, completely blocking the off-ramp. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Witnesses reported the incident to the police, who determined that the 30-year-old driver was impaired. She was arrested and taken for breath testing.

The accused faces two charges: operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80. They have been released and are set to appear in court on November 26th.

As part of the penalties, their driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days, and vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
