Convenience store workers offer transferable skills

Experienced in age-restricted sales, alcohol has been integrated smoothly

One of the biggest concerns for opponents to selling alcohol in convenience stores has been that minors will have greater access to beer, wine and more.

We spoke with one long-time clerk at a local corner store, who says controlling sales to certain age groups is nothing new.

He has asked that we not use his name or the name of his store.

He also raises a point for those concerned that adding the products to gas stations and corner stores will fuel impaired driving.

Sales of beer, wine and other pre-mixed drinks began Wednesday in Ontario.

The products can be purchased between 7am and 11pm every day of the week.
