Deadly week in Kingston for pedestrians

Separate incidents leave two dead

Two pedestrians have died in separate incidents in Kingston after being struck by vehicles.

On Tuesday an 88-year-old pedestrian using a mobility device was hit by a pickup truck while crossing Stephen Street near Cowdy Street. Kingston Police, paramedics, and firefighters responded, and the pedestrian was taken to Kingston General Hospital with serious injuries where he later died. 

Then on Thursday a pedestrian was hit by a Chevy pickup truck at the intersection of King Street West and McDonald Avenue in the Portsmouth area. The 75-year-old was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but later died.

Both incidents remain under investigation, and no charges have been laid at this time.
