The Spirit of Winter festival has officially launched in downtown Kingston, bringing a unique Indigenous storytelling experience to City Hall. The highlight is The Bear in Me, a video projection that runs nightly from Feb. 1 to 17, every 15 minutes from 6 to 10 p.m., in English, French, Cree, and Ojibwe.
The festival kicked off on Feb. 1 with traditional greetings, a smudging ceremony, and speeches from community leaders and artists. Visitors can stroll through the Enchanted Forest, skate under the stars, and warm up by fire pits.
The Bear in Me transforms historic limestone buildings into a glowing canvas for Indigenous stories. The event also features Indigenous-inspired food and special weekend activities.
The Spirit of Winter offers a magical outdoor experience for all ages. For details, visit the Downtown Business Improvement Area’s website.
