Kingston's Aaliyah Edwards has her sights set on gold for Canada

A lot of local basketball fans will be keep a closing eye on the women's basketball competition at the Paris Olympics. 
 
Aaliyah Edwards is appearing in her second Olympics after an impressive performance in Tokyo 2020. 
 
Edwards is expected to be a key member of the squad, which opens its tournament on Monday against France.
 
Edwards played collegiately at the University of Connecticut. She led the Huskies to four consecutive Big East Conference regular season and tournament titles. 
 
Earlier this year, the Kingston-native was taken sixth overall in the first-round of the WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics.
