Fall brush and leaf collection begins in Kingston

Kicks off Oct. 1

Kingston residents are reminded to get ready for the City’s annual fall brush and leaf collection. The brush collection starts on Oct. 1, while the leaf collection kicks off on Nov. 4.

Residents can view the schedule or sign up for reminders at the City of Kingston’s collection page.

During brush collection, pruned branches should be stacked loosely at the curb by 8 a.m. on the Monday of the designated week. Branches must be smaller than 15 cm in diameter and less than 90 cm long. No root balls will be accepted.

Leaf collection requires leaves to be placed in paper bags or containers that are less than 20 kg. Plastic bags are not accepted.

Yard waste can also be dropped off year-round at the Kingston Area Recycling Centre or Tomlinson Organics.

The City asks residents to follow these guidelines to keep streets safe and collection smooth.
