A brief but potentially hazardous period of freezing rain is expected to our listening area late this morning and last into this evening.
The freezing rain will lead to ice build-up on some surfaces, making highways, roads, walkways and parking lots icy and slippery.
Areas near Lake Ontario may receive mostly rain instead of freezing rain. Environment Canada has issued freezing rain warnings and is urging people to take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
