Dozens of teams descend on Kingston!
The Greater Kingston Girls Hockey Association (GKGHA) is gearing up for its annual Ice Wolves Cup from Jan. 3 to 5, 2025. Over 70 teams from across Ontario, including a new U7 division, will compete in arenas throughout Kingston and Napanee.
“Girls’ hockey is booming in Canada, and the rise of the PWHL has sparked even more interest,” said Jon Walker, GKGHA president. “We’re thrilled to welcome our youngest players with the new U7 division.”
Teams from U9 to U18 will play at least three games each in a round-robin format, with championships taking place Sunday.
The tournament also brings significant benefits to Kingston’s economy. Restaurants, hotels, and local attractions see a surge in activity during the event.
“We can’t wait to welcome players and their families for an exciting weekend of hockey,” said Walker.
