CBS wants you to be ready
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is gearing up for the busy holiday season, reminding travelers to plan ahead for smooth border crossings. With over 80.5 million travelers welcomed and 24,400 illegal drug seizures made in 2024, the CBSA continues to prioritize safety and efficiency at the border.
To avoid delays, travelers are encouraged to check wait times, cross early in the day, and consider alternative ports of entry. Key tips include declaring all goods, leaving gifts unwrapped, and understanding restrictions on items like poultry, medication, and cannabis.
Special seasonal exemptions on gifts and children’s clothing will run from December 14, 2024, to February 15, 2025. The CBSA also highlights its role in preventing illegal activities, ensuring safe passage, and supporting the economy.
