Holiday closures to impact city services and Kingston transit schedule

No real surprises for experienced residents

Kingston residents should plan ahead as City of Kingston and Utilities Kingston services will be affected over the holidays.

Garbage, recycling, and green bin collection will not occur on Dec. 25 and 26. Collection will happen two days later than usual. The Kingston Area Recycling Centre will close Dec. 25 and 26 but remains open Dec. 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kingston Transit will not run on Christmas Day. Boxing Day will follow the Sunday schedule, with Route 18 operating as usual. Queen’s University routes will pause between Dec. 21 and Jan. 8.

Municipal offices, fitness centres, and libraries will also close on Dec. 24, 25, and 26. Residents can access emergency services via Utilities Kingston’s 24-hour line at 613-546-1181.
