Know the risks of too much alcohol
Kingston Frontenac Lennox and Addington Public Health is urging residents to celebrate safely this New Year’s Eve by following Canada’s Guidance on Alcohol and Health.
To reduce risks, they recommend:
Limiting alcohol to no more than two standard drinks on any occasion.
Avoiding more than six standard drinks per week.
Drinking water and eating before and during alcohol consumption.
Drinking slowly to stay in control.
Public health officials stress moderation as a way to enjoy the festivities while prioritizing your health and safety.
They remind everyone to plan ahead and never drink and drive. Let’s ring in the new year responsibly, Kingston!
