Kingston and the Islands Ontario PC candidate declines interview

Ian Chapelle's team says he's focusing on door-to-door campaigning

As part of our ongoing and thorough coverage of the Ontario election, we’ve extended an invitation to all candidates to participate in interviews in the ridings that serve the KingstonDaily.ca and 102.7 WOW FM listening area.

Each candidate was given the same set of questions and the opportunity to respond in their own words, offering voters a clearer understanding of their positions on key issues affecting the community.

However, Ian Chapelle, running as a PC candidate in Kingston & the Islands, has declined to participate.

We received the following response to our most recent invitation from Joseph D'Angelo at his campaign office:

"Thank you for reaching out to the Ian Chapelle campaign and for the opportunity to join you. Unfortunately, due to the short length of the election Ian is prioritizing meeting voter's face-to-face at the door and will be door knocking throughout the election."

Our offer remains extended should Chapelle's camp change their minds.
