Kingston celebrates Franco-Ontarian Day

Festivities and a flag-raising mark the day

Kingston is proudly celebrating Franco-Ontarian Day, a special occasion to honour the rich Francophone heritage and culture in Ontario. Officially recognized in 2010, the day acknowledges the important contributions of the Francophone community across the province.

This year, Kingston will mark the event with a symbolic flag raising and the illumination of City Hall and Springer Market Square in green and white, the colours of the Franco-Ontarian flag. ACFO Mille-Îles is leading the celebrations, hosting a gathering at Confederation Park starting at 10 a.m.

The public is invited to participate in the festivities and enjoy the celebration of the French language and culture. For more details, visit ACFO Mille-Îles' website found here

Franco-Ontarian Day is a time to recognize the community’s deep roots and lasting impact on Ontario.
