Few details are know, but KCHC is looking ahead to new initiative
Kingston Community Health Centres is preparing to launch a new initiative in Napanee, though specific details remain under wraps.
During the October 8th Greater Napanee Town Council meeting, KCHC requested support for its upcoming Health Home initiative. The request included access to a large facility, waiver of rental fees, and up to three administrative staff members from the Town to assist with the event.
The initiative is tied to KCHC’s ongoing efforts to recruit family physicians for the area. Currently, the Town of Greater Napanee donates $26,123 monthly to KCHC as part of a two-year gifting agreement aimed at improving primary care in the region.
KCHC initially proposed using 99 Advance Avenue for the event scheduled on October 21-23. However, Town staff suggested the Best and Bash Arena due to parking limitations. The dates may be rescheduled due to conflicting bookings.
While Council approved waiving facility fees for the event, concerns were raised about the impact on municipal customer service if Town staff are allocated. Ultimately, Council agreed to provide cautious administrative support, with discretion on potential service disruptions to be determined by the Chief Administrative Officer.
