Kingston Fire and Rescue warns of stove recall

Do you own one of these Samsung models?

Kingston Fire and Rescue have issued an important warning about a recall affecting over 300,000 Samsung Slide-In Electric Ranges in Canada.

The recall is due to a fire hazard posed by the front-mounted knobs on these stoves, which can be accidentally activated, potentially leading to a fire.

As of August 28, 2024, Samsung has received more than 57 incident reports and 7 injury reports related to this issue.

Consumers using the affected ranges should ensure that children and pets stay away from the knobs, avoid leaving objects on the stove when not in use, and check that the knobs are off before leaving home or going to sleep.

Samsung Canada is offering free knob locks or covers to address the hazard. For more information and to find the list of affected units, visit Samsung Recall List here.
