Recipe shines in Metro’s heartwarming holiday campaign
Metro grocery stores are celebrating longtime employee Tracey Rodrigues with a heartwarming holiday campaign that shares her late mother’s Portuguese cream puff recipe.
Rodrigues, who has worked at the downtown Kingston Metro for nearly 30 years, is featured on a limited-edition tote bag that highlights the cherished family recipe. The campaign also honors her parents, Graziela and Rolando Pereira, immigrants from the Azores Islands who made Kingston their home over 60 years ago. Known for their generosity, the Pereiras believed no one should go hungry.
The project became an emotional tribute for Rodrigues, who chose the cream puff recipe because it’s simple to make and perfect for special occasions. Metro has produced around 200 custom bags for each honored employee, showcasing their stories. Rodrigues has been gifting the bags to her regular customers, spreading her family’s legacy across the community.
