KHSC hospital brings back masks in key areas amid COVID-19 rise

See where you are required to mask-up

Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) has reinstated mask requirements in response to increased COVID-19 activity. Masks are now mandatory in inpatient units, the Emergency Department, the Urgent Care Centre, and the Children’s Outpatient Clinic.

Masks remain optional in other areas, but KHSC supports anyone who chooses to wear one. Masks are available at hospital entrances and clinical spaces.

Staff will wear masks when caring for masked patients in areas where masking is not required. Visitors with symptoms of illness should postpone their visit until they are symptom-free. In urgent cases, such as caregiving for end-of-life patients or individuals with dementia, symptomatic caregivers must mask at all times.

KHSC emphasizes these measures are critical to protecting vulnerable patients and staff while maintaining safe hospital operations. Visit the KHSC website for updates on masking policies and other COVID-19 precautions.
