Kingston hosts groundbreaking human trafficking conference

Hundreds gather to work together

On Tuesday morning, Kingston Police Chief Scott Fraser kicked off the "Beyond Boundaries – A Groundbreaking Human Trafficking Conference." This event addresses human trafficking, one of the fastest-growing global crimes that exploits vulnerable individuals, especially youth, and threatens global security.

The conference serves as an educational platform, aiming to enhance collaboration between police and community agencies. Key topics include victim identification, specialized support, prevention strategies, and building partnerships within the justice system.

Timea E. Nagy, a best-selling author, United Nations Advisor, Human Rights Activist, and survivor of sex trafficking, is facilitating the conference. Her experience will guide discussions and workshops.

The event features presentations on Digital Sex Trafficking, cyber and financial intelligence, and best investigative practices. Attendees will gain insights into new trends, victim management, and advanced investigative techniques. The conference continues today.
