Crash, Dash, and Arrest
A Kingston man is facing multiple charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash on Highway 401 near Long Beach.
On Thursday, February 20th, at around 2:30 a.m., the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision against a guardrail. Officers arrived to find the car abandoned and obstructing traffic.
Witnesses reported seeing the driver leave the scene on foot. A short time later, police located and arrested 56-year-old Stacey Blackmore. Officers found approximately 90 grams of suspected fentanyl and drug trafficking-related items in his possession.
Blackmore faces multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, dangerous operation, failure to remain at the scene, and four counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
He was remanded into custody following a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville.
