Kingston police bust up drug deal

Two individuals were involved.

On July 9, 2024, Kingston police intervened during a drug transaction on Compton Street, north of Weller Avenue. While on patrol, officers observed two individuals engaging in what appeared to be an illicit drug exchange in a rear parking lot. Upon approaching, the individuals fled in opposite directions. One suspect attempted escape on a bicycle, leading officers on a pursuit through a fence onto Conacher Drive.

After a brief foot chase and resistance, officers successfully apprehended a 21-year-old local resident. A subsequent search revealed a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine in the suspect's possession. The individual faces charges including unlawful possession of a Schedule 1 substance, resisting arrest, and multiple breaches of probation. They were held for a bail hearing at Kingston police headquarters the following day.
