Kingston police seize $170,000 in illegal cannabis products in downtown raid

Unlicensed dispensary targeted

An unlicensed marijuana dispensary in downtown Kingston has been busted, and Kingston Police have arrested a 21-year-old as a result. 

On November 13, 2024, the Kingston Police Special Services Unit executed a search warrant at a business in the Queen and Division Street area. The investigation revealed a large quantity of illicit cannabis products being sold without proper licensing.

Police seized over 17 kilograms of cannabis, including pre-rolled joints, edible gummies, and marijuana buds. They also found over 1,000 unstamped tobacco products. The total street value of the seized items is estimated at $170,000.

The accused faces charges under the Cannabis Control Act, including possession for the purpose of selling and possession for distribution.
