One facing serious charges
A busy week for Kingston Police continues. Officers arrested two people this week, leading to the seizure of drugs and weapons in the downtown area.
The arrests happened on October 8, 2024, at around 11:45 a.m., when Kingston Police Downtown Foot Patrol Officers assisted in an investigation. Two individuals were detained and searched as part of the investigation.
One of the suspects was found carrying approximately nine ounces of crystal methamphetamine, a quantity of Canadian money, and two weapons—one edged and one blunt force.
A 32-year-old Kingston resident was arrested and charged with multiple offences. These include possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of dangerous weapons.
The accused was taken to Kingston Police headquarters and is being held for a bail hearing.
Police continue to monitor the downtown area for drug and weapons-related crimes.
