Someone with the UHKF could be knocking on your door in the near future.
Kingston residents may soon receive visits from canvassers encouraging monthly donations to support local hospitals.
The University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) has launched a door-to-door campaign starting Monday, March 3, 2025. Canvassers will visit neighbourhoods for several weeks, seeking donations for Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care.
UHKF has partnered with GlobalFaces Direct for the campaign. Canvassers are trained professionals with identification badges. Donations are processed securely using encrypted tablets, with personal and financial data uploaded to remote servers before being deleted. Financial data is further encrypted following Payment Compliance Industry (PCI) Standards.
Residents with concerns can verify canvassers by calling 1-833-341-0106.
UHKF urges residents to consider becoming monthly donors, stating that these contributions help save lives and improve healthcare services across Kingston and southeastern Ontario.
