Boosting road safety near schools and beyond
Kingston is set to launch its Automated Speed Enforcement pilot project this fall to make streets safer for everyone.
Starting next week, crews will begin installing and testing speed cameras at Lancaster Drive and Norman Rogers Drive.
These cameras will capture photos for calibration, but no tickets will be issued until enforcement officially begins in early September.
During the pilot, the cameras will be placed in community safety zones throughout the city, with locations changing roughly every three months. The City of Kingston aims to reduce speeding, enhance road safety, and protect the most vulnerable road users with this initiative.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed as the project progresses to ensure they are aware of camera locations and contribute to safer streets.
