Kingston to host first 'Welcome to Kingston Day'

Mark your calendars for October 27

Kingston is set to welcome its newest residents with a full day of events on October 27. The inaugural Welcome to Kingston Day will celebrate people who have recently moved to the city, whether from across Canada or around the world.

The day will begin with a Citizenship Ceremony from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Kingston Frontenac Public Library, Central Branch. After the ceremony, the New to Kingston Fair will run from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at City Hall and Springer Market Square.

The fair will feature booths, community organizations, and representatives ready to provide newcomers with information and support. It aims to connect people with the services they need to feel at home in their new community.

Organizers hope the event will help every new resident feel valued and welcomed.

Kingston’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Office and community partners are behind this initiative to support newcomers.
