Election Day is Thursday
Voters in Kingston and the Islands were more eager to cast early ballots than most Ontarians.
Elections Ontario says 8,972 local voters took part in three days of advance polling from Friday to Sunday. That accounts for 8.49 per cent of eligible voters for the riding of Kingston and the Islands. Across Ontario, 678,789 people voted early, making up 6.14 per cent of eligible voters.
Kingston and the Islands has about 98,000 eligible voters. The advance turnout this year is higher than in 2018 when 6.8 per cent of voters cast early ballots over five days. However, it remains lower than 2022, when nearly 10 per cent voted early over 10 days.
