Here's what you need to know ahead of holiday Monday
As Labour Day weekend approaches, Kingston residents should be aware of how the holiday will impact local services and facility hours on Monday, September 2. Here’s a rundown of what to expect:
Garbage and Recycling: There will be no garbage, green bin, or recycling collection on September 2. Collections will occur the day after your regular pickup day. For reminders, sign up for notifications via phone, push notifications, or email, or download the FREE “Kingston Waste” app.
Recycling Centre: The Kingston Area Recycling Centre will be closed for the day.
Transit: Kingston Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule. However, Route 18 will run on a weekday schedule.

Administrative Offices: All administrative offices, including housing and social services on Montreal Street and Provincial Offences, will be closed.
