Lasalle Causeway’s temporary bridge opens ahead of schedule

Opened at noon Thursday

After a months-long wait, the temporary bridge at the LaSalle Causeway is now open.

Public Services and Procurement Canada opened the crossing that has been out since March at noon Thursday, hours ahead of schedule.

All the inspections had been completed meaning traffic could begin flowing.

We expect the afternoon and morning rush hours to look quite different now.

The temporary bridge will be removed on October 15th and November 16th from about noon until 9 pm to allow marine traffic to move through.

The government agency says they appreciated residents' patience while the bridge was out.

There is no word on when a permanent replacement will be installed.
