Lock Stations close up at end-of-day Monday
Navigation season is coming to an end - that's boating season to most of us. The last boats will pass through the Rideau Canala lock stations on Holiday Monday at 5pm.
Visitors are asked to stay clear of the locks over the cooler months as they are not maintained like they are in the summer.
Parks Canada's Karen Feeley says the canal is part of our region's fabric.
Next Tuesday, the LaSalle Causeway Bridge will reopen to allow the seasonal flow of large vessels, and the Rideau Canal Corridor will close for the season, we'll share more about that later today.
The Canal will will re-open to marine traffic during the may long-weekend.
