Jim Hegadorn elected as Deputy Warden

At its inaugural meeting on December 11, 2024, Lennox and Addington County Council elected Nathan Townend as Warden and Jim Hegadorn as Deputy Warden for 2025.

Townend, Deputy Mayor of Loyalist Township and a farmer on Amherst Island, takes on the role after serving as Deputy Warden in 2024. He joined County Council in 2022 as an alternate for Ric Bresee, now an MPP. Active in public health initiatives, Townend serves on regional boards and is helping merge local health units into South East Public Health.

Hegadorn, Mayor of Loyalist Township, has served on County Council since 2018. A fifth-generation farmer from Odessa, he also works for the Ministry of Transportation and sits on multiple committees, including Seniors Outreach Services.

In his inaugural address, Townend thanked Councillors for their support, saying he is proud to represent the county and its residents in his new role as Warden.
