Massive snowfall buries area, but is finally over

Crews working hard on the cleanup

Municipal and county crews are working hard to clear more than 30 centimetres of snow that blanketed the region.

While most areas have been plowed at least once, some roads need more attention. Crews are working around the clock to make sure streets, highways, and rural roads are safe, but officials ask residents to be patient.

Police are also urging people to keep travel to a minimum while cleanup continues. Snow-covered roads and reduced visibility make driving risky. If you must go out, give plows plenty of space to work.

With teams working nonstop, progress is being made. Still, some side streets and rural areas may take longer to clear. Officials say they appreciate the community’s patience as they battle the aftermath of the storm.

Drivers are reminded to check road conditions before heading out and to prepare for delays as cleanup efforts continue.
